BACKSTOP BANDITS is a catching tribe of like-minded coaches and players who share a strong purpose to advance themselves and the catching position as a whole.

We currently train catchers year-round across all levels in both Denver, CO and Tampa, FL, as well as inside Backstop Club - our remote development platform. In addition, we hold several catching camps/clinics with high-level coaches throughout the year in multiple cities across the US.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Our development philosophy is centered around our North Star - “Catching Freedom,” which is defined by a catcher capable of executing whatever the game demands without physical, technical, or mental limitations, who can therefore play the game freely and direct his energy and attention toward winning each pitch and leading his team. We work toward this by progressing each catcher along a gradient scale in each aspect of the position, from installing an ability, to applying it, to ultimately implementing it into the system they will use in-game. We coach our catchers with the goal of equipping them with both the abilities and the knowledge necessary to take full ownership and responsibility for their development and their careers, so that they can be their own best coach.
